Executive Summary

The report is aimed to compare and contrast all about policies, processes and guidelines relating to workplace between the two Australian Companies in Food Industry, Goodman Fielder Limited and Fonterra Shareholder Funds.

To demonstrate the organization’s approaches, this report deeply examines each area involving in the workplace such as fair treatment, health and safe work environment, ability to exercise one’s conscience, privacy and dignity, trust and its importance and involving the key stakeholders like honesty, fairness, integrity and responsibility. Result of information analyzed shows that these businesses had done several of actions and procedures that protect of employee’s and stakeholder’s interest also. In particular, comparative performance between the two companies, they overall planned detailed and specific challenges and strategies to maintain and ensure employee and stakeholder’s rights. However, there are some limitations that existed in both companies, for example some policies are just listed in common senses and no specific plan to against unethical behaviors.

In recommendation, the company’s regulation, codes of conduct of employees and stakeholders need to be improved and make it clear more than other firms. That is one important way to make Fonterra and Goodman Fielder protect public interests and also increase their reputations.
