Abstract

This is a breakdown of lupus and what is how it is believed to be developed and what can be done to help a patient that is living with lupus. While reading this paper the reader will see exactly what researchers believe to cause lupus how it may be prevent and whether or not it is curable. Lastly, the reader will read any possible developments for the disease and how it is dealt with on an original basis.

The Deadly Attack of Lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the immune system becomes over active and the body starts to attack healthy tissues within the body. There are several different types of symptoms informing lupus, such as, inflammation, swelling there could also be rashes on the skin. A person with lupus can have kidney problems, blood, heart, lung and joint dilemmas. In order for the body to fight against the virus it uses antibodies that protect against viruses and bacteria. Due to the fact that the body has been taken over by Lupus it is hard for the immune system to determine the difference between what is good and what is bad. Lupus has different types: Discoid, drug-induced, neonatal and systemic. Discoid lupus will just affect the skin. Systemic Lupus will also affect the internal organs as well as the skin but less than 10 percent of people go from discord lupus to systemic lupus. Drug-induced lupus is caused by certain prescription drugs, but there symptoms are very similar to systemic there are certain drugs a person can take that will make their body prone to Lupus such as a hypertension medication called hydralazine, but according to research there are over 400 drugs that can cause drug-induced Lupus. Drug induced lupus is known to produce in patients after they stop taking certain medications and not likely while they were still on the prescription.
