Examination Procedures for MG 624 – ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR

Students enrolled in the on-line MBA program are required to take mid-term (if required) and final exams in a proctored format. This is required to insure academic integrity and for accreditation purposes. A proctored exam is simply one taken under the supervision of a qualified, independent third-party witness. The Proctor must be an independent third party and must not be related in any way to the student taking the exam.

Question: Where do I take the proctored exam?

If a student lives near the University of North Alabama and prefers the Professor to serve as proctor, simply send your instructor an e-mail requesting an exam time within the week that the exam is scheduled. You should receive a confirmation from the instructor. Most on-line students live some distance from campus and it is assumed that they will take the exam at a location convenient to them. Examples of acceptable exam sites include (but are not limited to): local libraries, schools, commercial testing centers, or your workplace.

Question: Who are acceptable proctors?

There are a great number of acceptable proctors. If you use a commercial testing facility (such as a GMAT testing facility) any official of that Center will be acceptable. If you choose to take the exam at a local library, one of the librarians is acceptable as the proctor. If you use a local school, a teacher or administrator is acceptable as a proctor. In many cases, you may find it easier to take the exam at your place of employment (assuming this is after hours and is acceptable to your employer). Your supervisor is an acceptable proctor. A minister is an acceptable proctor, as is a justice of the peace, notary public, etc. There are many others possible – just as long as they are not related – and are clearly an independent third party.
