Introduction:

Nowadays, there are all kinds of children furniture in the market, but not all of it are very practical, especially the baby crib. We found out that, when there is a newborn in a family, most of the parents will start with the baby crib when considering buying baby’s products and accessories. However, when the baby grows up, the baby crib will become useless and also it requires some space to keep. Usually, the practice of most of the parents is that they will throw it away or donate it to others. In my opinion, it isn't worth to do so because the baby grows up quickly, and they only use the baby crib for few months.

Based on these reasons, our company-“Sweet Home” has been in the process to develop a new children’s furniture carefully-“DreamBed”- which can be used Two in One. It has two different functions for different ages as the baby grows. The first function is a baby crib. Baby will be sleeping on it and at the bottom of the crib, it can hold baby accessories, such as bottles, diapers, toys, etc. Compared with other baby cribs, our product is more comfortable and safe because our product uses mahogany as raw material. Mahogany is a very hard timer which is reddish-brown in color and comes from tropical trees which is used for quality furniture. It is strong, with no chemical pollution and besides that, it is also way more durable than other materials.

The second function is that it can be transformed into a table and chair for children. When babies grow up to 3-6 years old, they can’t sleep in the baby crib anymore. Therefore, our “DreamBed” has considered this point and designed this crib which then can be transformed into a table and chair for children, enabling the children to eat and do homework. The purpose of our research and development of this product is to extend the product life, improve the quality of life of consumers, and also increase the practicability of the crib.(Koselig, 2014)
