Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a health care reform in U.S, as popularly known as "Obama Care" signed into law in 2010. President Obama signed the comprehensive health reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, into law in order to, focus on provisions to expand coverage, control health care costs, and improve the health care delivery system in the United States. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enacts is a complex and long piece of legislation attempting to provide more Americans affordable health through reforms to the existing health care system. Several important reforms have been made that includes new rules for insurance companies, taxes and tax breaks, funding, spending, new benefits, new job creation and more. Affordable care Act was enacted as a fiscal stimulus when United States was struggling to cope with deep recession. Unemployment became the major concern as millions of people in U.S lost their job during the severe global economic crisis. The primary focus of the Affordable Care Act is the funding of health care, increasing coverage, cutting the cost and eliminating the social burden of health care. The ACA addresses topics and sections in detail that needs reform in U.S health care system. The primary objective of ACA to is make quality health care service accessible and affordable to millions of Americans. The ACA was passed with the expectation of bringing the United States under universal health coverage.

In regards to the accessibility of the health insurance, Americans with the health insurance now have an access to various new rights, benefits and protection. This is to ensure that Americans have quality health care when they need it.
