Journal Week 8

The Mission of Biblical Leadership: “ For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” 2 Chronicles 16:9.

The mission of biblical leadership is to prepare souls for Christ; the mission started in the Old Testament and is fulfilled in the New Testament through the ministry of Christ. The church is to carry out Christ redemptive plan through discipleship.

A biblical leader: Has fully surrendered to God, Love God’s people, a passion for reaching lost souls, faithful, holy, dedicated, and humble. Biblical leaders work to find balance in their lives, they learn to put first things first. What leaders do is to glorify God; we are servants of our Father. We should peruse Christ not ourselves. We leave a legacy and we work to finish strong. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.

To fulfill God’s calling on my life; I must first listen for my calling and then accept it. I will spend time with God and read His word so I can apply it to my life. As a leader I will serve others not want others to serve me. I will be content in my family, and my church. I pray that my spiritual life and my worship will be acceptable to God.

How will leaders of the past impact my life and leadership?

All the leaders that I studied were interesting, how they learned about God and the way God led them to where they were needed. I seemed to connect with D.L. Moody the most. He was spiritual without many credentials for leadership, he had total submission to the Holy Spirit.

God’s calling is essential to become an effective Christian leader, God’s equipping, God’s vision and God’s formation of our character.

What impacted me as I read about past leaders is first, having a personal relationship with Jesus, be secure in my relationship in order to encourage others. God’s vision will always be consistent with what...
