Mindful Matters, LLC, is a Maryland state mental and health counseling/education center focusing on teen mothers, troubled children/youth, and veterans/military with mental/health issues. Mindful Matters is located in the heart of Bethesda, MD, adjacent to Walter Reed Medical Center. Our mission is to empower disadvantaged individuals, families, and youths to take control of their destiny and function productively by providing them with the necessary skills to realize their dreams, through counseling, education, social skills training, motivation, and participating in the treatment of abnormal behaviors to become successful.

At Mindful matters our personnel consists of a psychiatrist, social workers, family therapists, psychologists, and nurse practitioners. With our elite team we will primarily use talk therapy to help our clients assess the difficulty they are experiencing and identify solutions. In addition to diagnosing problems and treating them through talk therapy, we have the capabilities to prescribe medication for behavioral health problems if necessary.

Our objectives are to; Provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families, Provide various therapeutic group sessions (i.e., bereavement, posttraumatic stress, divorce, teen parenting, senior citizens' health issues, troubled children/youth), and Provide health prevention and maintenance groups. I have chosen to provide these types of services because they are of interest to me and I can empathize with many of the clients if they come in for certain services.

The center will be located in Bethesda, MD adjacent to Walter Reed Medical Center. I chose this location due to multiple families and Military members that frequent the hospital. The Center occupies approximately 2,200 square feet. It has nine clinical offices and group rooms.
