Colgate is a company founded nearly 200 years ago in New York. The company is mostly known for manufacturing toothpaste in collapsible tubes but later introduced soaps and perfumes to their product line. Throughout the years, Colgate has centered their business model on values. With sales surpassing $15 billion, they believe nutrition, oral care and home care is of great importance (Colgate World of Care, 2015). Colgate products are sold in over 200 countries around the world and the company continues to increase efforts for product availability. Colgate owes their success to the people of company and therefore recognizes the need to help employees stay healthy and focused to exceed expectation.

The company is dedicated to attracting and retaining talent as well as providing opportunities for team members to live a healthy lifestyle. Some of these actions includes but not limited to acknowledging and rewarding employees, providing leadership development, encouraging work-life balance and stimulating the working environment with growth opportunities. Colgate provided a global growth curriculum, which were completed by over 200,000 employees. One of the company’s main goals is to help foster a sense of inclusiveness. This includes looking beyond the average traits of diversity. Diversity at Colgate encompasses sexual orientation, life experiences, outlook and talent. The company supports several groups that represent different ways of living. These groups aid in promoting cultural awareness as well as community involvement. A selection of Colgate’s network groups includes the Asian Action Network, Black Action Committee, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Network and Colgate parent network just to name a few (Colgate World of Care, 2015).
