1. Title of the assignment:

‘The Capital asset pricing model (CAPM) is a very useful model and it is used widely in the industry even though it is based on very strong assumptions. Discuss in the light of recent developments in the area.’

DEADLINE: exact day will be announced in the lecture but it is always one week before the end of November and it is always a Friday

2. Information around assessment:

This is your one and only assignment. Failure to submit the assignment may create complications in your assessment for this course, since coursework is COMPULSORY. Please refer to your handbook on the College regulations or to the undergraduate administrator.

NO extensions will be granted. Please make sure you work on this assignment the earliest possible-do not leave that for the last minute since things may happen and then you may be in a very difficult situation.

Make regular backups of your work! Computers are never reliable: they crash! You are responsible for saving your data no matter whether you use a lab pc or your own. Please do not email me if your computer has crashed…I can’t do anything about this and will not grand extensions, so SAVE YOUR WORK regularly!

3. Basic Rules for completing the essay:

Please stick to the rules below when you draft the essay. Poor presentation will be penalised with a 5% reduction in the final mark of this assignment.

1. The essay should be a minimum of 1,500 and should NOT exceed 2000 words. Make sure you are within the word limit
