Definitions
* Dating violence- a category of violence that is often understood to include stalking and sexual assault and are typically adolescents in middle/high school (12-19) or unmarried college students (18-26)
* Date rape- specifically refers to a rape in which there has been some sort of romantic or potentially sexual relationship between the two parties
* Security of attachment- The relationship type infants establish with their primary caregiver can predict the course of their relationships and connections throughout their lives. Those who are securely attached have high self-esteem, seek out social connection and support and are able to share their feelings with other people. They also tend to have long-term, trusting relationships.
