College of Commerce

CNCCU, which stands for the College of Commerce of NCCU, was established in 1957, making it the oldest business school in Taiwan. It is the premier business school in Taiwan to obtain dual international accreditation of AACSB (2006) and EQUIS (2010). In addition, the Financial Times ranked CNCCU 47th in 2010 and 41st in 2011 and 2012.

Commerce building+ Elevators

The commerce building was built in 1993 with 12 floors in it. There are a total of five elevators in this building, including one near the back door. All of which can only stop at designated floors, except for the one on the far left and the one near the back door. The boards posted besides each elevator indicate the floors at which they stop.

Academia Excellentiae (6F)

This is Academia Excellentiae, which is the most representative part of the commerce building. Back in 2008, our former dean and current President, Edward Chow, fundraised 2 million US dollars from several corporations to renovate this place in celebration of CNCCU's 50th anniversary.

CNCCU has incorporated the case-teaching method of GCPCL(Global Colloquium on Participant-centered Learning) from the Harvard Business School into its education system. Since 2006, CNCCU has sent several professors to Harvard to learn this case-teaching method.

As a result, five classrooms designed for case teaching were built, including the Polaris International Chamber, Polaris Technology Chamber, Yan Cheng Innovation Chamber, Yuanta Humanity Chamber, and the Yuanta Lecture Hall. All of which can accommodate up to 60 students, with the exception of the Yuanta Lecture Hall, which can accommodate up to 90 students.
