Diabetes

I have chosen to write about diabetes because it hits close to home for me. My ten year old son was diagnosed with type one diabetes. We have never quite found out why he contracted diabetes. That’s the tricky thing about diabetes there doesn’t have to be a reason of why one gets it. They say if you watch your diet and reduce your sugar intake you can low the risk of contracting diabetes. Diabetes is a clinical condition characterized by the excessive excretion of urine. It can be caused by a deficiency of antidiaredic hormone. The electronic tools that I am aware of for diabetes is the meters and the insulin pump. There are all different types of electronic tools and meters they use at the endocrinologists office. Diabetes is a very serious health issue that I feel could use more research to improve the way it is treated. I think that its horrible that as a ten year old boy my son has to check his sugar several times a day just to eat he also has to take several shots a day so there is a lot of poking of his fingers and also poking with the needles for his shots. They have to give insulin for the carbs they are about to intake and they also have to take insulin for the sugar correction. We have a patient portal set up through my son’s endocrinologist’s office. We use this to see his A1C levels and to also see any new updates on diabetes. The portal has little exams in there to teach us about new corrections if they have to change the carb to ratio at any time. If a diabetic has high sugar for a long period of time they could contract key tones in their urine. This is very bad for a diabetic, if they have key tones in their urine they have to correct it with insulin. If the key tones don’t go away they must go to the...
