1. What are some key issues that our planet is facing right now?

Our planet is always facing many problems but one particular that is affecting many other things is climate change. The climate change is connected to many problems such as poverty, hunger, health, education, water, energy, our communities and the economy. 

2. What kind of climate changes affect poverty?

Many different events can happen that can make things worse for those people who are living in poverty.  Things such as Hurricane Katrina, droughts and more intense seasons all impact people in poverty.  Climate change simply “erodes the stability people need to improve their lives”.

3.The goal to end hunger by 2030 is getting more difficult how?

The ability to produce food is getting harder due to many different unpredictable changes.  The spread of pests, changes in water supplies and rising temperatures all threaten the goal of getting more nutritious food to the people who need it.  These climate changes make this goal harder and harder to meet and without control on these climate conditions they continue to be a problem.

4. How are deaths and illnesses a result of climate changes?

Many things are causing increased illnesses and deaths in the world from climate change. Rising temperatures threaten people’s respiratory health because they worsen ozone smog and the heat has killed 2000 people this year alone in India. 

5. How does water affect the people in the world?

Without water there would be no life but too much or too little water can also cause problems.  When there is too little water, the land will be in a drought many things such as crops, the supply of drinking water and the area where we live are changed.  On the other hand a flood will also impact things we eat and where we live.
