Introduction

Women in Leadership of Orange County are an interest group that can also be known as the pressure group or special interest groups. The pressure group is an association of renowned and accomplished women who are formally organized on the basis of a shared concern so that they attempt to influence public policy in their favor. The special interest group aims to change policy that would control and enable women to be in the leadership sphere. The policies they seek to change policy that would benefit women in leadership and encourage more women to be in leadership. The pressure group achieves their goal by lobbying techniques and strategies.

Women in Leadership of Orange County

The pressure group is located in Orange County that is located in the North Carolina. A Recent census of the country reveals that the county has a population of 1,998,808 with almost half of it is women. The county is home to the University of North Carolina that is located at Chapel. Surprisingly the county enjoys equality in the educational sphere thus women found the need to start a special interest group that would champion the rights of women to engage in leadership (Grossmann, 2012). The group wanted to include women in all leadership of the county (Paludi & Coates, 2011). They aim to make women be the candidate of political parties.

Women in Leadership of Orange County is bi- partisan Political Action Committee that was formed in 1993 with the aim of promoting and supporting women political contenders/ candidates to local, regional and state-wide office. The women that were supported must be dedicated to keeping access to the full reproductive rights (Paludi & Coates, 2011). The group support and endorse female candidates who believe that access to reproductive healthcare and education is imperative to safeguard reproductive rights for all women.
