Study Plan

Welcome to DAC1! This course provides you with an overview of the many facets of information systems applicable to businesses.

This study plan is designed to help you to gain the competencies for DAC1.

Here are some things to consider as you engage in this course:

What is the Assessment?

The assessment is a 56 question objective exam. You will have 120 minutes to complete the Assessment. As a general rule, please plan to devote about 60 seconds to each question. In reality, it takes about a minute to study a question to determine what is being asked. So please keep that in mind when moving forward.

What score do I need to pass the Assessment?

You will need to have a score of 62% to pass this assessment.

You will want to take the preassesment to determine your level of readiness. The preassessment is just one indicator of performance on the Assessment and is another learning resource (LR) available to you. The cut score for the preassessment is 62%, which is a solid B. Please do not feel as if you have failed if your cut score is below 62%. It just means that there are areas that you need to strengthen and I am here to assist you with that. Remember, even if you receive 100% on the pre-assessment, you will still need to ensure that you understand all the material.

A word of caution: there is only one version of the pre-assessment. At some point, the preassessment will have no value to you, because memorization will naturally come into play after repeated attempts. Please use your preassessment attempts wisely! The goal is to test competent on the Assessment!

Please note: that while there is only one version of the preassessment; there are two versions of the Assessment.

What is covered on the Assessment?

The objective exam covers the following 10 competency areas:

* Information Systems and Business Functions ( 6 pts)

* Computer Hardware and Software (4 pts)

* Data Resource Management (4 pts)...
