One Amendment of the Constitution that could be considered controversial is The Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution is the Amendment of Search and Seizure and it was passed by Congress on September 25, 1789 but ratified on December 15, 1791. This Amendment states that the people do have the right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. This specific right given by The Fourth Amendment limits the power of authority to seize and search people, their property, and their homes.

This Amendment is controversial because there have been many debates throughout the past couple of years regarding this Amendment specifically. There have been many different activities that the police and higher authorities take part in that contradict these rights that the people of the Untied States have, and this in part, is why this Amendment has so much controversy. According to Barry Friedman, there have been a number of highly publicized police-citizen encounters in which the police ended up shooting a civilian. This often times happens because the certain civilian is not willing to let the police search wherever they are trying to search. Another controversial idea that goes along with this is the fact that there is a concern about use of surveillance and they’re also being aerial surveillance that is controlled by piloted aircraft or drones. This is in a way budding into people’s personal privacy and that goes against the right to not get searched.

Because of this Amendment being so controversial, it affects both organizations and the society. The impact that it has on organizations is basically the worry of someone wanting to search your place of business at any time but knowing...
