Everyday millions of people use technology to get through their daily lives. Whether it be a computer, tablet, or smartphone, we rely on technology for information and also for storing data. The cloud makes this easy by allowing users to store their photos, documents, or other person files on software that run through the internet. With cloud computing, there are three levels to it: Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS).

The benefits to cloud computing are pretty noticeable: users can reduce the spending on technology infrastructure by paying “as you go” thus getting more bang for your buck, you can access your files whenever and wherever you want, reliability, and you don’t need to rely on in-house IT infrastructure. Who wouldn’t want to use cloud computing with all these benefits? Well, it should be noted that there are many disadvantages to cloud computing. One of the biggest downsides to cloud computing is security.

With the increased number of cyber-attacks against governments, companies, and people, security has become a major issue to many users and some still resort to in-house IT infrastructure. Using the cloud means you have to provide your service provider with access to personal and important information. Having to give important data to third party organizations is a very risky business and can lead to hacking.

Personally, I use ICloud to store pictures, videos, and music. I love being able to have my pictures easily accessible through any device that I setup with ICloud. I also enjoy being able to pay a low rate for space in the cloud.
