The accompanying Microsoft Excel file “tnhosp.xls” has the following data for 96 Tennessee hospitals: Hospital Name, City, Staffed Beds, Total Discharges, Patient Days, and Gross Patient Revenue.

This data is somewhat dated, and it should not be used to draw a conclusion about the current state of hospital finances in Tennessee. The purpose of this exercise is purely academic in nature, and it is aimed towards understanding your command of basic statistical theories and applications.
