Assignment 2 Information and Instructions
Assignment 2 is a multiple choice quiz that takes place on the APY2613 site under the main site labeled
APY2613-16-S1. There are several options to access the assignment. The first is to go to the Assignment
2 tab on the left hand side. The second is to go to the Self-Assessments tab on the left hand side and to
select Assignment 2. The third is to go to the link: https://my.unisa.ac.za/samigoapp/servlet/Login?id=94c6b337-38d5-49af-ab4a-43a1d4cd1f211456490869769.
This assignment counts out of a total of 15. You are not able to study for this assignment but you may
find some benefit in reading about Africa on www.wikipedia.org.
There’s a pool of 55 questions out of which 15 are randomly chosen and given to you. The options under
each question are randomized as well. You have a maximum of two chances to complete the
assignment. If you’re unhappy with the answers you gave the first time you have the option to do the
quiz a second time. Only the last submission you make will be used to calculate your mark. No marks will
be made available until after the closing date of the assignment. Once the marks are made available to
you, you will be able to see what the correct answers were and where you went wrong.
The purpose of this assignment is to get a general feel of where students are in terms of their general
knowledge about issues such as economy, history and politics in and of Africa. A secondary purpose is to
provide some orientation with regards to questions I think are important when thinking about Africa but
this will be much less salient.
I am aware that some students have stated that they do not have good access to the internet. Take note
that this module is labeled a ‘Module Online’ and is intended to be run on myUnisa, and has been
