Description of Parts of the Research Paper

I. Title

a. Should capture what the research is all about.

b. By reading the title the reader would have an idea on what the research is all about but not necessarily on how it was done.

II. Abstract

a. Should give a summary of the research.

b. By reading the abstract the reader would have a picture on how the research was done and its contribution to any field.

c. Should be 200 to 250 words.

III. Keyword

a. List of words that were used to establish the existing body of knowledge, difficulties, and area of interest.

IV. Introduction

a. Gives a discussion of the existing body of knowledge on the area of interest.

b. Gives a discussion of the gaps, problems or difficulties on the existing body of knowledge or the area of interest that were not yet addressed by previous researches.

c. Gives a rationale of the area of interest or study. (Based on the gaps, problems or difficulties that were identified)

d. Enumerates the problem statement, general objective, and specific objectives of the research undertaking.

e. All statements, ideas or concepts should have references.

V. Methods

a. Provides a clear discussion of the procedure that was done to achieve the objectives.

b. Provides a list of data gathering techniques that were used to gather data for achieving the objectives.
