CASE BRIEF
1956 - 26 Municipalities of Rizal Province
- Hon. Rodriguez, 1st elected Governor of Rizal Province
- the province was faced with acute financial problems.
Mid-1960’s - industrial and commercial center improved.
* revenues of the province increased with cooperation of private sector through the Rizal Economic Development Commission.
* assured financial stability
1966 - Rizal Youth Development Program launched.
1969 - 1973 - agreement with UP Institute of Public Health and Department of
Health to designed a health services development project
1973 - Macro Health Plan was immediately implemented.
1971-1975 - Infrastructure and education improvements
1976 - launched of two-pronged agricultural program:
a. use of high-yielding palay varieties (HYV’s) to increase rice
production; and
b. extension of credit for irrigation
1 July 1976 - Integration of 12 municipalities of Rizal to Metro Manila
Commission (MMC)
1976 -1977 - Release of Integrated report on the Province of Rizal, Local
Government Auditing Office, Commission on Audit
