Introduction

Even before the invention of flights people had already flown by the use of balloons as well as gliders. After a four years research on flights, the Wright brothers (Orville and Wilbur Wright) were able to come up with a design airplane at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in the year 1903. Leon DE Lagrange was the first passenger to fly with Henri Farman as the pilot in the year 1908 and later that year there emerged one American, Mr. Charles Furnas, who was the first passenger to fly with the Wright brothers in Kitty Hawk. On 1st January 1914 there was the establishment of the first air service that started in Florida. There was then to be an invention of a better design of airplanes by Glenn Curtiss who created better room for expansion and build bigger and spacious planes since they had the capability of landing on water. This was a very big advantage to bigger and spacious planes since they we made of lighter metals unlike the rest of the planes that landed on land which had to be made of hard and heavy metals that could withstand the impact on landing.

First World War

As much as there was already invasion of flights, its growth as an industry was very slow since it was not really accepted or rather embraced by people. The idea of flying was a nightmare to them considering its accidents are fatal so people didn't embrace the idea of flying as a commercial sector. This acceptance made the evolution of aircraft very slow as people lacked the courage of coming up with better designs. However at the beginning of the First World War brought in new aircraft designs as well as improvements. This was due to the increased demand of military aircraft that were used for fighting, hence the governments involved saw a necessity to improve the designs.
