Organizational Change
Introduction
My paper is going to discuss the need for a structural change in the organization that I work for. In order for Quality Associates to remain competitive and successful they are going to have to make some changes to their organization.
Structural change is a good thing for the company because it will help them grow and allow them to offer more to their employees as well as stay competitive with their competitors.
Structural Change
The majority of organizational changes can be considered a structural change. Structural changes typically impact how a company is run. ( Brandenberg. D ) I believe in order for the organization I work for to stay successful they need to consider making changes.
I am employed by Quality Associates, located in Iowa City, Iowa. We are a sub-packaging company for Procter and Gamble. Quality Associates builds displays for Procter and Gamble oral care product. Oral care consists of, Crest Toothpaste, tooth brushes, mouthwash, and whitening strips.
There is a lot of competition that Quality Associates is up against every day. In order for Quality Associates to be competitive and successful they need to make changes in their organization. A big change that I see is the company should add new machinery and production lines, so the company can be more competitive to their competitors and be of more value to Procter and Gamble.
Quality Associates as well as their competitors bid on jobs with Procter and Gamble. In order to bid on jobs the organization needs to be able to have the machinery and capacity to run the jobs. Right now Quality Associates is limited to what they run because they only have the machinery and set up to run oral care.
Because they only run oral care products, causes many problems and issues for Quality Associates. The biggest issue is that it causes them to have a lot of slow times. Six months out...
