Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

We always ask ourselves, “Do we need to be the best in our chosen fields?”, “Is there a reward that awaits us and will motivate us to do a good job?”. Motivation is a behavior that you can influence but not create. Even highly motivated individuals can get frustrated, discouraged, or tired on a project. Team members need to know they are valued, their efforts are noticed, and their good work is appreciated. Remember that each individual is different and motivated or rewarded by different things. The key is to be timely, creative, and authentic and that the motivation or reward matches the interests and goals of the individual, whenever possible. Each student needs a motivation not only on their study but also in all other things. It is a way to make them persevere on whatever that will make them satisfy the needs and goals they have set for themselves. Knowing that there is a fruitful results and a wonderful reward will encourage each student to excel in every possible activities. It will serve as their utmost drive to be the best in everything not recognizing that they have that will within themselves. Each set of motivation and reward really affects one’s behavior and attitudes in every aspect of individual’s life. So whatever motivation an individual has, whether it is a positive or negative one, it will make a fruitful outcome.

Every human experience involves a causative or motivating factor that, through integration, produces one or another kind of response. The functioning of this principle raises certain questions concerning human behavior. What are the wants, desires, drives, or urges that cause people to behave as they do? They dynamic aspect of human behavior involves the concept of motivation. Motivation implies causation, and includes such factors as mental sets and attitude, impulses and environment changes. (Crow, 2000)
