Business ethics

Introduction

Business ethics entails the code of moral principles and values that direct the behavior of the busines in terms of conducting it in the right way .A code of ethics set the standard about what is good or bad and in decision making.Some organisation choose to recast the concept of busimness ethics through such other terms as integrity,business practices or responsible business conduct.

A code of ethics can be better undustood if we compare it with the behavior of group controlled by pescribed laws on the one hand and by free choice on the other.

The first area is that of pescribed, enforceable law, where the legal system goven the the values and standards.The laws of the country goven the behavior of south african businesses in many ways eg.organisatiion must pay taxes and they are not allowed to take undisclose sums of money out the country.

At the othe end of the continuum is the area f free choice, where no laws govern the beavoir of organisation and where there is complete freedom of choice eg. The organiation’s decision to hold a christmas party for it staff members. In the area of free choice organisation are accountable only mto themselves whereas in the of pescrbed laws organisation are acountable to enforceable law.

Ethics policy

- Employees at all times shall conduct themselves and business of the company in an ethical and honet manner.

- Employees commitment and adhere to ethical behavior shall be prompted through training, and with ethical and technical support to employee’s job functions, tasks and situations.

- Clear direction or assistance shall be provided to employees for appropriate, compliance decision making for both rotine tasks and extraodinary circumstances.

- Mechanisms to evoke and address internal ethics issues shall be known to employees.

- All employees who observe instances of unethical bunisses conduct by another employees...
