Adventure Time, the Coconut Worm

Trying bizarre delicacies in Vietnam was my main goal, when I went over there. So I was with my family and her family friends, we were at the city of Ho Chi Minh and travelled a couple of hours to the Ben Tre and after having a day break we set off again on a ferry to the other side of the of Ben Tre.

It wasn’t exactly a restaurant that we went to, there was a hut and a table and a waiter. My uncle ordered the food for us but I want expecting anything weird, everything was fine, the waiter was placing everything on the table etc etc, and so another waiter come to us and he had a stove and was carrying a plate and what was on it was 5 living fat white worms like they were still moving around

So the waiter basically heated up the stove, poured soy sauce on the stove and then slowly placed one worm at a time, sizzling it to a dark brown colour. Man, the worms were still moving pretty gross to be honest. There weren’t to be served my uncles who were with us, ate it with one bite. Then I went for it and it tasted like thick fatty ooze, it was hard to swallow down to be honest. It was difficult and I could feel the head of it crunch… I guess the leaves that I ate with it helped in a way. So that was the coconut worm that I ate
