INTRODUCTION

The Internship Programmed helps the student integrate into the Company, gather the required information in an organized manner, gain insight into each of the areas visited and follow through the outline with the guidance of the company. It helps me to write a comprehensive report of my training. Certain aspects might be completed in greater depth than others depending on the particular Company. Several other points may be covered, such as the operating expenses, and markdown policies. This Internship Programmed will vary from one firm to another. The student will be expected to adapt to the reality of the situation and to move from one department to another. The time spends in each area and the information gathered will depend on variables such as, staffing and pertinence to the company. INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOME Program Objectives: The objective of the internship is to provide students an opportunity to use and apply what they have learned from their coursework in a “real-life” environment. It encourages the student to think critically and to constantly redefine the content and process of the learning experience. The internship also is expected to heighten the individual’s awareness of community issues, motivate learners to create opportunities, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change. Program Outcomes: By the end of the internship, students will have: • Linked academic theory to practice in their discipline • Applied their knowledge, skills, experience to a work environment • Acquired new learning through challenging and meaningful activities • Reflected on the content and process of the learning experience • Advocated for their own learning in alignment with internship goals • Demonstrated professional skills in the workplace • Built and maintained positive professional relationships • Identified, clarified or confirmed professional direction as it relates to their studies
