Introduction

As a representative and consultant for KU Consulting firm I have been assigned the task to use my expertise in Operations Management to assist Albatross Anchor as they face many challenges within their twelve acres plant/facility mostly due to the fact of the space being extremely limited. The plant includes the administrative offices, manufacturing, the shipping department, the receiving department, raw materials storage, finished product storage, and the foundry. The actual design of where all the different areas are located makes the company work and produce ineffectively and insufficient making difficult to progress in profits. I have made a few recommendations in this proposal triggering the four major challenges within the company, which are: quality management, performance management, technology adoption, and distribution management. I also have been authorized to change the existing facility (with limited construction budget) and/or refine the process flow of the manufacturing area. All changes must be completed within a 60-day window with the majority of the changes happening at night when the plant is idle or on the weekend when the plant is idle. I will in full detail list and detail the proposed changes and/or alterations, detail three implications and three complications that may occur as a result of the recommended changes, and create a Gantt chart showing a timeline for when the different changes proposed should be made, detailing which changes may overlap and showing how long each change will take to institute. I am extremely confident that Albatross Anchor has the potential and capability to become extremely more efficient, effective, and successful with the changes being made within the company and the professional help from KU Consulting Firm and myself.
