The United States has the largest fast food industry in the world. Ranking as number one among the multitude fast food restaurants presumes not only a hard work and dedication but it means also doing something really different that set you ahead of everybody else in the same industry.

Five guys is one of the most famous fast-food chains in the United States. It was created in 1986 by the Murrell family. Today Five guys count over 600 franchises in US and Canada. According to Washington magazine, five guys is the “Number 1 burger”. Being in the fast food industry is easy but holding the first place after just a few years of service as far as quality, customers and employees’ satisfaction is amazing.

Throughout all these years, Five guys allied quality of products and customer satisfaction which are the fundamentals of its philosophy.

Five guys ‘doctrine is to sell hamburgers and French fries better than anyone else in that industry.

Five guys’ specialty is hamburgers and French fries. This has been their formula from the beginning. The fact is for any business to succeed supply and demand are important elements. The demand is driven by a number of factors such as customer preferences, the price of complementary food and consumer expectation in the future. Five Guys have been able to meet the demands of its customers since day one. The fact is five guys tried to have diversity in their menu but it did not last. Murrell says: “when we first started, people asked for coffee so we thought, why not?” They then realized that it was a disaster. Five guys even tried chicken sandwich but that did not work. Unlike many other fast foods that served coffee, milkshakes, wraps, chicken sandwich and salad, five guys decides to stick with their hamburgers and French fries which has been their formula to success all these years
