IV. Analysis.

One of our major problems as we have stated is scrutiny of our business in a foreign market place. If we do not exhibit ethical behavior on all fronts we likely face push back from the Japanese government and also face the possibility of having our business taken away from us in many different ways. Japan could take control of our company with little to no compensation is they deem necessary. Also the government could slowly force us to employee there own people and eventually turn the whole operation over to there country. Another key problem for our company will be adapting to the language barrier. We will need to employ people who are multi lingual with the country’s language. Another thing for us to pay attention to is the symbols and words we use in our advertisements and promotions because what means one thing in the U.S. can mean something drastically different in another country. We will need to do extensive market research to keep misunderstandings from happening.

There are many opportunities available to us marketing our product in the Japanese market place. The first opportunity we have noticed is the large population that Japan has over other countries. Also with us having an active operation in Japan we put ourselves in great position to capitalize on this compared to competitor’s who advertise in Japan but do not have an office here like we do. Efficient distribution channels are also a huge opportunity for us to take advantage of. Japan has many modes of transportation and warehouses to make it easier for us to move our product from point A to point B without much trouble. It also helps having a company like Mitsubishi leading the way in logistics for Japan. Mitsubishi has operations at all the major ports as well as many warehouses at those locations which will make it easier for us to transport our products to there locations and also have peace of mind knowing we can store our products there if need be.
