The United States of America is one of the best countries in the world. One of the things that makes this country unique is the diversity of nationalities and cultures that can be found here. The United States is and always has been a country of immigrants and that is the reason why the country is now divided on whether an immigration reform should become law or not. An immigrant reform would help the country with the economy, safety and it would help keep families together.

Opponents to an immigration reform argue that foreign workers will cost the U.S. Treasury far more than they will ever pay in taxes. They think that immigrants are low-skilled workers, therefore, they will reduced the incomes of other low-skilled workers. But according to a recent study release by Regional Economic Models Inc., if the Senate’s immigration proposal were signed into law this year, the country would see an influx of particularly high-skilled workers and growth in economic indicators such as job creation. The study estimates that this reform would create more than 1,100 total new jobs in 2014, and that in 2020, there would be an increase to more than 2,100 new jobs. An immigration reform would be a big contribution to the country’s economy that is desperately need.

Some people are against an immigration reform because they believe that it will affect the country’s safety. They think that those who came from another country illegally are running away from justice because they committed a crime, but that’s not always the case. Most of the people who came to this country illegally, came running away from the violence, the hunger and the poverty that unfortunately exist in their countries. In case the immigration reform becomes a law, the government would take precautions so that criminals don’t qualified for it.
