Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your leadership style.

Over the course of my career I was say I have evolved into multiple leadership styles. Currently, I would categorize myself as a democratic leader (developer & delegator). I invite my employees and team members to come up with ideas and rely on them to make decisions. In most instances I prefer on agreement by everyone but at times have to support the less popular decisions. My team members are aware that I will support them, as long as they are functioning within the regulatory guidelines, even if the outcome is less than desirable.

My strengths as a developer allows me to put forward my ability o delegate coordinate and supervise work. This also enforces my team members to develop their abilities through goal setting. Additionally, my ability to capitalize on my strengths, asking peers to evaluate me and then self evaluating their responses. I am success oriented thereby able to accept honest and constructive criticism.

My greatest weakness is becoming overly involved in tasks assigned to subordinates, with the intention of allowing them to learn from demonstration. This can become very time consuming, less productive and may not afford them the full opportunity of hands on achieved and less than optimal outcomes. Another weakness includes trying to be a perfectionist. This often detours from the focused path and can be time consuming.

Both the dictator and developer exercise their powers on their subjects. One of the largest differences is that the developer is not the sole authoritarian as with the dictator. The developer delegates some decision making roles to their subordinates.
