As an institution like any other, for the proper and smooth running of affairs and operations in a school, organization is vital. This in actual sense does fast-track progress. It should be common knowledge that nothing can improve with the absence of proper organization skills in place. This has therefore seen the emergence recently, of school culture as a framework for the evaluation of schools on matters concerning organization. School culture can therefore be identified as the study and interpretation of the organization and development of schools. This article seeks to analyze strengths and weaknesses of school culture as well as offer recommendations for leadership strategies and an action plan to address the weaknesses in school culture.

A new creation in the offing, school culture offers an avenue for analysis and subsequent improvement. Evaluation is based on three pillars which are teachers, students and society. Parents are part of the society pillar. Assessment seeks to answer the question “what attributes should a good teacher, parent and student possess?” It seeks to establish proper channels that will see appropriate communication between the three levels. It seeks to emphasize that due respect is mandatory across all three levels for proper coordination of the school to be achieved.

With this in place, according to the school culture approach, evaluation on the school’s organization will be gauged on how well the three pillars that the school is founded on coordinate with each other. The ultimate performance of the teachers, students and the satisfaction or lack of it of parents will reveal how much harmony there is between the three pillars. Solutions should be readily available according to the evaluation, on how these links can be bettered.
