For the first assignment Cleopatra, I felt I was unprepared and didn’t analyse the commentary according to the word limit. As this was my first assignment I wasn’t used to taking notes and planning my essay in a constructive format. However, as I continued my studies and progressed onto the other assignments, my planning and taking notes improved and I was able to work faster and plan my essays which were relevant to the essay question.

A particular study skill that I want to improve is researching my particular assignment in greater detail and giving myself time to do so. I was able to overcome this time issue by requesting extension deadlines from my tutor who understood that time is an issue at times because of my role as a full time mother.

I very much enjoyed writing about Cleopatra; this was my highest mark from all five assignments. I would have liked to have written more as I the more I researched the more I found Cleopatra very interesting, as an actual person and how history had portrayed her.

I found the Faustus assignment quite difficult. I found the language used in the book and DVD difficult to comprehend, therefore making it hard to research and write an essay about Faustus and if he is a tragic hero or not. My planning of this essay was not in depth and I found it difficult to answer the question with the guidelines provided. I found resources online which I used to write the essay as the book was not of much help, as I felt it didn’t really answer the questions that were being asked from the assignment. Again, time was an issue here and in hindsight I would have started the assignment earlier than anticipated, and any trouble I came across I would have emailed my tutor for further clarification.
