Executive Summary
After reviewing all the information pertaining to the current issue of whether we need to upgrade our POS systems from the DOS platform to a more current one I have taken information supplied by our store managers, IT department along with the various Commercial groups within Zara , I offer the following recommendation that we immediately start working on implementing a new Windows based POS Systems into a few selected stores with a full integration after a trial period. A suggested minimum one year trial will be implemented in these outlets during which time we will be able to work out any bugs or issues with either the hardware, networking or software we can take a proactive approach and deal with the issues on a small scale.
With the implementation of the new system in our retail outlets it will propel us further with making our stores operate more efficiently when it comes to the ordering, receiving of products and a better handle on inventory control. It will also ensure faster more efficient communication between Design/Production department and Product Managers in the field. All of these changes will increase the company profitablity.
I look forward to discussing my recommendation based on the facts outlined in this report in further detail
