1. Most businesses should engage in e-commerce on the Internet. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain your position. Yes. Given that the incoming generation of businesspeople have grown up in a world in which online commerce has always been available, it has become business as usual. It is not just selling and buying on the Internet, this process encompasses developing and marketing as well. E-commerce is a way to reach the global community and marketplaces.

2. What are the critical success factors for retail e-Business startups? Selection and Value, Performance and Service, Look and Feel, Advertising and Incentives, Personal Attention, Community Relationships, Security and Reliability, Great Customer Communication.

3. If you were starting an e-commerce Web store, which of the business requirements summarized in Figure 9.13 would you primarily do yourself, and which would you outsource to a Web development or hosting company? Why? Personally, I would outsource all of them. Having a professional take care of Development, Service, and Managing would ensure that my Web store operated efficiently and with minimum problems.

4. Are the form and use of information and decision support systems for managers and has the growth of self-directed teams to manage work in organizations changed the need for strategic, tactical, and operational decision making in business? Yes. People need information of high quality, that is, information products whose characteristics, attributes, or qualities make the information more valuable to them. The type of information required by directors, executives, managers, and members of self-directed teams is directly related to the level of management and decision making involved and the structure of decision situations they face.
