TO: Sales Department Employees

FROM: Your name, Sales Director

SUBJECT: New Dress Code Policy

It has always been the intent of our management to maintain a dress code that reflects a professional atmosphere while maintaining a positive image amongst its customers and clients. In an ever changing world, we realize that business cultures change, yet in many aspects remain the same. In an effort to address these changes we have decided to review our long standing dress code and make some amendments as deemed congruent with the current business practices trending in our global market.

We currently have the practice of allowing more casual clothes to be worn to work on Fridays. In an effort to make positive changes and boost company morale we have decided to make “Business Casual” the new standard of dress for all Sales Department Employees who do not have direct contact with customers or clients. Some positions, such as Sales Representatives, still spend most of their time doing business face to face with our clients and our continued success relies on your team to present a polished company image. It is imperative to the financial success of our company that you continue to represent us in a trustworthy, professional light. For that reason, Sales Representatives will be required to dress in the standard business formalwear when making sales calls or during meeting with clients. However, it will now be at your discretion to dress business casual during those times when you are in the office completing paperwork, preparing for meetings or creating presentations.

Remember, regardless of the type of dress code you follow, good personal hygiene is always a must. Personal grooming should remain neat and professional, while hair must be clean and well maintained. Cologne and perfume are to be used in moderation; it should not be overpowering or offensive to others. The following are examples of appropriate dress attire....
