Effective communication

Definitions:

A two way information sharing process which involves one party sending a message that is easily understood by the receiving party.

It means the ability to express ourselves well, both verbally and non-verbally, in ways which are proper and clear.

In its simplest form it's the sending of a message from one end to the another end in a clear and proper manner.

Communication  skills

Positioning and proximity:

Create an environment where everyone feels safe to express ideas and opinions. Choose the right moment and the right place. Focus eyes and mind on the person speaking.

Eye contact:

Use eye contact and speak concisely. Watch the person's face and body language for reactions.

Facial expressions:

Meet the person periodically for face-to-face conversations. Pay attention to the eyes, mouth and mood of the face that could be smiley or angry or sad.

Gestures:

Body movement helps us pick up visual clues from people's reactions to what we are saying to them. A defensive, hostile, antagonistic, or fearful posture can create concerns on the part of the listener. Use your hand gestures carefully.

Touch:

It is physical contact with a person to make a diagnostic or to carry out any test at some part of the body

Use of language:

That can be a verbal or non-verbal communication or  message that use the proper language and appropriate way to communicate. Encourage the speaker to continue with small verbal comments like “yes”.

Tone of voice:

Use always soft and clear voice to send the message. Don't use high tone voice and ask politely while communicate.
