Provision of alternative lighting system

-The issue was mentioned in the Works Council Meeting and in the some areas like Musume it was noted that there is no electricity.

-It was highlighted that there is a great need to purchase torches, solar lamps for various stations to use at night irregardless of whether there are lights or not for the safety of the employees.

-The accountant emphasized on the standard and durability of the torches to be purchased and that consultation with people who know the durable ones was sought.

-Water Supplies were delegated to raise the requisition for the torches and compile a list of all the stations that are in need of them and the specification. They were given a deadline of Friday 27th of January to compile all the details with the help of Human Resources and the Electrician.

-Purchase of Halogen lights for big stations was discussed and the issue of vandalism was taken into consideration

-it was agreed that by the 27th at least 10 stations should be covered and the quotations for works provided to the chairman.

Progress on electrification of houses where material are already available

-the houses that need electrification were listed down and it was suggested that they prioritise on the ones that are in critical condition be dealt with first

-Human resources informed them that the tenants are responsible for housekeeping and the repair of minor damages to the houses

-The committee resolved that they need to go and check on the houses, the electricity and the bills used where to be paid by them

Provision of protective clothing to stores

-The committee raised a lot of concern on the distribution of uniforms especially the incorrect sizes. Human resources were given the prerogative to look into the matter and visit the suppliers with the Stores Controller.

-it was resolved that the Profoma Invoice has to be scrutinized to see that they are purchasing the correct thing as per the specifications requested....
