1. Conduct an Independent-Samples ttest to compare one group of widows who received grief counseling within one month of the death of their spouse and one group who did not (there is no baseline comparison for this, only cross sectional, one time data to compare). The table below includes the data for each group. The higher the score, the more depressed. To do this in Excel, click on any empty cell, type =, and click on the fx icon on the menu bar and select T Test. (Refer to Excel Tutorial for data to input into formula).

2. An assisted living facility would like to assess the participation rates in activities of their dementia residents. Conduct at two-way Chi Square test to determine if the participation rates of residents with dementia in the facility are significantly different compared to residents with non-dementia. The data presented in the table below is the percentage of dementia residents compared to non-dementia residents who participated in activities for a given week. Enter the information into an Excel spreadsheet and answer the following questions:
