Jim Sinegal is the co-founder and former CEO of Costco. Sinegal is not only worth more than 150 million dollars, his strategies and leadership tactics have transformed this bulk retail establishment into one of the most successful retailers worldwide. Sinegal was chosen for this assignment because of his dedication and hard work that steered Costco into the future based upon their moral business ethics and concentration on the effects of poor customer service. As all of Sinegal's success can be attributed to the job he donned during his college days, inspiring as it may seem this is the prime example of how hard work can prove to be more beneficial than an expensive college education. Sinegal graduating from a community college in San Diego was just the start of this man's journey into success.

Sinegal began his career in 1954 at a Fed-Mart unloading mattresses. Quickly catching the attention of Fed-Mart's chairman, Sol Price who was credited for his invention of the big-box warehouse idea. Sinegal became the executive vice president of this fine establishment where his knack for the bulk selling process flourished. Sinegal started Costco in 1983, as competition began to grow both Price Club and Costco Wholesale settled on a joint merger. This merger would help to increase profits for both companies. The new combined company was named PriceCostco Inc., which focused heavily on their international expansion. Expanding into other countries such as Mexico, South Korea and England. Despite their best efforts to overcome the losses that had been incurred it was clear that these two owners should go their separate ways. In 1994 the breakup became official and Sinegal continued to run PriceCostco Inc. until the name was changed back in 1997 to Costco Wholesale.
