This journal is about a communication experience that I had at Macquarie language center. This journal will analyze and explain in depth non verbal communication which is personal space. First, this journal will explain a concept of personal space. Then, explain theory of Edward Hall, ethological models, Equilibrium Theory

The issue which I want to explain that is about dealing with staff of Macquarie language center in Macquarie. In UAE, it is common to discuss with a teachers without looking to the distance of personal space, it is normal and common to speak or walk very close between friends and teachers. However, in Australia has a difference in personal space. For example, when I spook with my teacher, he went back one step without hurt my feels. Sometimes, the teachers asked me to make a distance between them and me during a conversation that made me an embarrassed because I do not know my mistake or why they put the space. As a result, that made me unhappy because I do not know the right thing that will finish that situation. This situation happened one year ago. After studying this subject I have understood the reasons that make the teachers to leave the distance between me and them which means if you speak with any one you should put space that will be comfortable for other people.

Personal space, which defined in the psychological literature, is to describe the zone around the human body that people feel is ‘their space’. The distances of this zone are different and vary based on the gender, culture, and context, among other factors.
