Introduction

The entertainment software industry in America makes a broad collection of computer games and video games in order to satisfy the tastes and demands of their clientele which is as varied as the population of the nation. The scope of today’s gamers includes lots of American citizens of all ages and upbringings. Actually, over two-thirds of all American families play video and/or computer games. This vastness in gamers is the cause that fuels the progression of the multi-billion dollar entertainment software industry which has been bringing employment to the nation’s population. (

The video games that are made by the industry have a very broad scope. They include; computer games, arcade games and home console games such as PlayStation. Many American children have continually played video games for more amount of time and the games have also become increasingly graphical, violent and mere realistic over a period of time. Worldwide, especially in the developed countries, parents, teachers, doctors and research workers have continually questioned what impacts these video games have on the world and they have also questioned the great changes that the software entertainment industry has undergone. Statistics have shown that among the kindergarten and middle school pupils, females tend to play video games for approximately 5.5 hours every week and the male pupils play for approximately 13 hours every week. Comparing these statistics with those of the previous century, there has been a massive increase in the number of hours spent by populations on video games.
