Evaluating Ethics and Security within an Organization

The Military’s security systems may not be impeccable but the security measures it takes are done to help prevent any unauthorized activity, from checking ID’s at the gate to the random vehicle inspections, it take a lot of devoted time and effort form it’s soldiers to make sure these things get done properly and efficiently.

When it comes to the information system DISA holds very high standards, certain documents are only meant to be accessed by personnel that are given the proper authority and clearance to view and work with these documents. Throughout the military a CAC card or token is required for soldiers and civilians to access their military email or any information that is essential such as DFAS My pay, which shows the soldiers pay and deduction, along with more classified records that are located on a different system known as NIPER, for that system a top secret clearance is needed to access the system, there are hundreds of systems that are used in this organization with different variations of accessibility types which goes to show how security with in the Military’s is taken seriously.

Security problems in the Military are known to happen, and are most commonly related to the Ethics and Integrity of the employees. When a soldier goes through basic he/she is taught the Army Values, which are Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Self-less Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage, these values are expected to be showcased throughout ones military career.

Integrity-Do what’s right, legally and morally. Integrity is a quality you develop by adhering to moral principles. It requires that you do and say nothing that deceives others. As your integrity grows, so does the trust others place in you. ( Army.mil)
