We are often attracted by the delicious food shown on a poster outside the restaurant, but end up with a great disappointment after dining. With regard to the problem that most advertisements appear much better than they really are, I can't agree more with the statement.

Advertisements' adopting the method of exaggeration is not a rare phenomenon. That's actually what's happening around us every day. In my point of view, the exaggeration is quite important for advertisers and companies to propagate their products. With the fierce competition in business, no wonder they will do whatever they could to attract customers, and in turn, increase their market share. Only through this way can those producers earn enough capital to expand their production. “Only the strong survive,” an adage which can be still applied to the modern business world.

The advertisement always present us with the illusion of a better product than it really is. Another reason for this behavior is that the advertisements represent the attitudes of the producers rather than customers. For example, we often hear the slogan like "the best dishes in the city" or "most famous style". Actually these kinds of slogans only reflect what the producers think themselves should be. But who pay for the products are not the producers but the customers, and hence so many customers may be misled by those unrealistic boastings.

What's more, the advertisers can take advantage of the unsymmetrical information. That is to say, the producers who made the advertisement are the people who are most familiar with the products. They know the exact quality, the raw material, the endurability and so on. While the customers can only rely on the advertisements or comments from other people to decide whether a product is what they really need. But things always go like this, when I went shopping with my mom, we often found some commodities so nice that you can't resist to take them home even you don't have the need at...
