Interrelationships between leadership style, organizational culture, corporate strategy and the external environment:

The key to organizational excellence is excellent leadership, strategy and culture. These three factors are highly interlinked with each other and must be aligned appropriately for better performance as it influence how the company will function and what will be achieved. None of these factors alone can contribute to company’s performance. For example: No matter how good your strategy is, when it comes down to execution, people always make the difference, as corporate culture is an incredibly powerful factor in a company’s long-term success. Also, if the strategy is in place and the company’s culture embrace strategy, but lack of leadership or inappropriate leadership style will not confer desired results. In addition to this, another factor that is interrelated to above three factors and affects company’s performance is external environment. As style of leadership, strategy and company’s culture are also affected by external factors, such as the industry environment, demographics, resources, economic & political factors and technology.

Link between leadership style, organizational culture, corporate strategy & external factor:

To study the interrelation between above factors in details, we need to look at each factor in particular:

Strategy: Strategy is the direction and scope of an organization over the long term, which achieves advantage in a changing environment through its configuration of resources and competences with the aim of fulfilling stakeholder expectations

Every organization has to manage its strategies in main three areas:

• The organizations internal resources

• The external environment within which the organization operates

• The organizations ability to add value to what it does

Organization culture: A pattern of shared values, norms, and practices that help distinguish one organization from another.
