Good Foundation Needed

I choose the website above for its breakdown of the four pillars and it’s associated links which provided further analysis as it pertains to the four pillars of effective safety management system. Looking through the web for websites about the four pillars I came to the conclusion that they can be adapted to all facets of business and life. While most of the interpretations of the principles were the same; the different types of companies that I came across that used them as a teaching tool were quite different. The definition for each pillar stayed the same as a guideline for the reader to apply to the area they saw fit. The site I referenced gave the best breakdown I came across and should be able to assist any one of us to get the information we need about the four pillars.

The website discusses how safety management is becoming the industry standard. It describes how SMS can adapt to the existing safety culture, benefits of SMS, and some of the challenges of implementing SMS, as well as, explain the SMS process.
