Leadership and Professionalism Workshop Project

For people who want to become a successful leader, one of the best ways is to fully understand who they really are and how they behave. Besides internal factors which could be naturally-born ambition, temper and patience, one’s behaviors are impacted by external factors such as cultures, environment and education. As we can see, no matter how different their achievements are, leaders from the same culture or environment always share more similar characteristics than those who grow up in an opposite environment. By analyzing my personal leadership characteristics, I will be able to better understand myself and be aware of how the internal and external factors are affecting my leadership characteristics.

The rating of each characteristics will be added as well in order to determine what needs to be improve.

I believe the following five aspects are my most decisive factors as becoming an efficient and successful leader.

1. Rational (7/10)

Leaders are not meant to be leaders all the time. They have to have followers who have faith in them, trust them and are willing to contribute on their side. I believe a leader who can be rational and make reasonable decisions will win followers. An efficient leader knows what to do and what should not be done. The rationality in their brains always remind them what is the proper action. Being rational is being gentle, calmed and smart, and these are the factors to make a right decision. I am a rational personnel and will always think twice before taking any action and will always consider how my decision will make other’s life better off. However, sometimes I will be overly rational and jeopardize the effectiveness of leadership. When I have decided to step back and analyze, the opportunities just slid away.
