Top Five Environmental Priorities In Bahrain

1. The first priority that Bahrain needs to acknowledge is to maintain its strong economy to provide more people with prosperity and a healthy, clean lifestyle and environment. It also helps the government to fund for developments that will help save the environment and to set programs that would help to educate people for example, through televisions, radios and billboards, on the proper use of clean water and other environmental issues. Now, in Bahrain there are recycling bins where we can put reusable things.

2. There also needs to be a limitation to the reclamation of land. Even though this expands the land of Bahrain and attracts more tourists into the island, water, aquatic animals and their habitats are getting destroyed or badly affected. Also, water treatment plants and improvements in cooking devices, cleaner fuels, improving ventilation should be done.

3. The government should also invest and support new industries and factories to know how they use the environment and to find environment friendly solutions to protect surroundings.

4. As improvements are being made in transportation; roads, highways and underpasses, replacement of grass, planting more trees along the roads, and avoiding cutting down trees should be done.

5. People’s lifestyles should change. People jump into their SUVs and head off to work with their air conditioner blasting, looking forward to sitting in an air-conditioned office/school the whole day. This greatly affects the environment minute-by-minute. Us people shouldn’t abuse, but reuse what the earth has given us without creating pollution.
