Please respond to the following discussion question (150-word minimum):

Review Ch. 10, Section 9.3, of Writing for Success. Everyone has biases. Biases are not always negative; they can help you construct a strong argument. How can a bias negatively affect your essay? What can you do to prevent this?

I beyond a shadow of a doubt, agree with you and the chapter 10 of writing for success. Research is the only way that you can get and grasp a clear understanding on a topic. When you do that, you fall in love with your opinion on that subject. Having obtained verities of opinions on different subject at hand, staying open minded I found that is the only to fight against having negative biases on subjects. But I look at things in a different light sometimes; therefore when I do have a bias opinion it is mostly a fact in which I can explain. A bias can negatively affect my essay the ways as such; Generalizations which makes people not recognize the variation within the populace. I feel that upon the situation you can by bias opinion but not all the time. With that said, I feel the only way to bypass misinformation is to studying to show yourself approved in every way and not just listening to one persons personal opinion.

The use of the first-person I in academic writing has been a source of debate. How do you feel about using I in an academic essay? What issue arises with the use of I in an academic essay, and how can you prevent it?

I feel that first person writing is a great way to make the reader or readers feel involved in the story, essay, and/or article that you are composing. Using first person writing puts me in the mainframe of have a heart to heart conversation on any subject matter at hand with some of my love ones.
